WCHD Influenza Vaccine Available Today

September 23, 2022 – The Whiteside County Health Department (WCHD) is pleased to announce that beginning today Friday, September 23, 2022, Seasonal Influenza (Flu) vaccine is available for individuals 6 months and older.

Influenza (flu) is a contagious respiratory illness caused by influenza viruses that infect the nose, throat, and lungs. Some people, such as people 65 years and older, young children, and people with certain health conditions, are at higher risk of serious flu complications. You can protect yourself and those around you by getting your seasonal flu vaccine when able.

Individuals ages 6 months and older  who would like a flu vaccine this season may walk in between 8:30am and 4:00pm Monday through Friday at the Whiteside County Health Department in Rock Falls. We would like to remind everyone that wait times may be slightly longer than during previous seasons as many individuals are also seeking updated COVID-19 Bivalent Booster Doses at this time.

COVID-19 vaccines and boosters can be administered at the same time and you do not need to wait if you have already received one to get the other. Individuals interested in COVID-19 vaccine or booster can schedule an appointment by visiting Vaccines.gov.

More information on Seasonal Flu vaccine can be found at
